Jeff Ma

Jeff Ma was one of the members of the MIT Blackjack Team that was made famous in the movie 21 and in the book Bringing Down the House, though his “character” was named Ben Campbell in the movie.  The real Jeff Ma did make a cameo appearance in the movie, however, as he played the blackjack dealer at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.  An homage to his real identity was played when “Ben Campbell” referred to Ma as “my brother from another mother” in the scene.  During his time with the MIT Blackjack Team, Ma and his teammates managed to win millions of dollars playing blackjack in various casinos around the world.

Jeff Ma Career Outside of Blackjack

In addition to being a member of the MIT team during the mid 1990s, he also co-founded the sports stock market website ProTrade and conducts consulting work for a variety of different professional sports teams.  He also makes regular appearances as a motivational speaker at corporate events and conferences around the world.  At these appearances, Ma helps teach companies how to use numbers to achieve a better bottom line by making better business decisions.  Referred to as a “charismatic speaker,” Ma also helps companies find ways to reevaluate their talent, to uncover their undervalued assets and to measure the true value of their business.
