A practice session you can start now
The former Flash game is retired. Adobe ended Flash Player support on 31 December 2020 and blocked Flash content from 12 January 2021. This page now offers a text-based hand lab; it does not pretend that the old game still runs or ask you to install an obsolete player.
Use the examples below or deal physical cards. For the strategy questions, assume six decks, 3:2 blackjack, dealer stands on soft 17, dealer peeks, double after splitting and late surrender on the initial unsplit hand. A different ruleset can change an answer.
Round 1: A + 5 + 5. What total do you have?
21. The ace still counts as eleven: 11 + 5 + 5. This is a three-card 21, not a natural blackjack.
Round 2: A + 7 against dealer 9. Stand on 18?
Hit under the stated rules. Soft 18 can improve without an immediate bust from taking one card; a hard 18 is a different situation.
Round 3: 5 + 5 against dealer 6. Split or double?
Double if permitted. Treat the pair as hard 10. If doubling is unavailable, hit.
Round 4: 10 + 6 against dealer 10. What comes first?
With the stated late-surrender rule and an eligible initial hand, surrender. If unavailable, hit. This example is not a pair of eights.
Score the choice, not the next card
Make three columns on paper: hand, decision and explanation. Give yourself a point for identifying the hand correctly and another for the chart-matched action. Do not reveal an extra card before scoring. A lucky result cannot repair a decision that did not fit the rules.
Repeat the hands you missed after a short break. When the answers become automatic, change the dealer upcard and check whether the decision changes. This makes practice deliberate instead of a race through easy hands.
Keep the complete rule-specific chart beside you. There is no bankroll, prize or live casino connection in these exercises.
