History of the Treasure Island in Las Vegas

Treasure Island, frequently known as simply TI, is an extremely popular adult paradise resort on the Las Vegas strip. Treasure Island features a tropical pool area, upscale restaurants and a broad range of clubs and bars. While in the past Treasure Island was well known for its pirate theme today the pirate marquee has been replaced with the initials TI.

The 95,000 square foot casino boasts several thousand video poker and slot machine as well as a poker room and numerous table games.

Guests can enjoy many different entertainment venues including the highly popular nightclub Tangerine, featuring burlesque dancers, and Mist; a neighborhood bar type club. A wide variety of dining options appealing to a broad range of tastes including Francesco’s, the Steak House, Sweet Temptations, Isla Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar and the Social House.
Treasure Island offers 2,885 rooms including 220 suites.

Treasure Island was constructed by Mirage Resorts and Steve Wynn; however, it was sold to MGM Mirage. MGM Mirage recently sold TI to Phil Ruffin for $750 million in 2008. When the resort was originally built in 1993 it was for the purpose of attracting families with features such as an expansive video arcade and nightly pirate battles.

Today the resort’s image has been completely renovated for the purpose of appealing to adults.
